ABB is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the technical lead for engineering activities on offshore and onshore E-House projects. You will develop SLDs, protective schemes, and equipment layouts, ensuring compliance with standards and safety policies.

This role emphasizes collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across Bangalore/Chennai, with a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in project engineering within Power/Water and Oil & Gas sectors, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in Project Engineering.
• Experience as Project Engineer in large Power/Water and Oil & Gas projects; Onshore/Offshore E-House preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for engineering activities in low-complexity assignments.
• Prepare SLDs, protection schemes, and cable sizing for offshore and onshore E-Houses.
• Develop Schematics for Control, Protection and MV/LV Switchgear panels.
• Prepare engineering schedules and interface with stakeholders to drive deliverables.

Ensures that the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to Process Automation business for Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore / Chennai, India.You will be mainly accountable for:Perform Basic and Detail Engineering activities and provide optimized solutions for the Electrical system in industrial projects specifically in Offshore and Onshore E-houses, Oil&Gas projects, Refineries. Prepare overall key SLD, Auxiliary AC/ DC SLD & protection SLDDesign calculations including transformer sizing (Power, Distribution and Converter), Battery and UPS sizing, DG sizing, VFD Sizing, earthing calculation, cable sizing, cable sizing, cable tray sizing, lighting calculation, lightning calculation,Prepare data sheet & specification, technical bid evaluation, manufacturer drawings review for all equipment used in industries like transformers, GCB, bus duct, MV switchgear (Both AIS and GIS), LV Switchgear, MCC, Battery/ UPS system, VFD, DG set, cable, cable tray, earthing & lightning, Communication Equipment’s.Detail Engineering /Plant Engineering– Equipment layout & section, earthing layout design, cable routing / cable tray layout, cable schedule & termination schedule preparation, bus duct layout, lighting layout, lightning layout, switchgear fixing arrangement drawing.Develop Schematics for Control and Protection Panels, Synchronizing Panels, MV and LV Switchgears based on project specific requirement Develop of Block Logic Diagram for MV and LV Switchgear.Prepare Engineering Schedule in line with agreed document deliverable list, matching engineering portion of project schedule. Interfacing with various stake holders to drive the project deliverablesQualifications for the role :-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience for Project EngineeringWorked as Project Engineer in at least 2-4 large size projects in Power/Water and Oil & Gas sector domain.
