Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications; strong negotiation/relationship skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office and basic ERP/procurement systems; knowledge of cranes/conveyors is a plus.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sales and Procurement Engineer role based in Chennai. The role involves identifying potential suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, and preparing purchase orders in line with project and budget requirements. The Sales and Procurement Engineer will support customer inquiries, prepare technical and commercial proposals, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of products. Daily tasks include maintaining supplier databases, tracking order status, analyzing pricing and cost data, and supporting negotiations to achieve optimal terms. The role also requires regular communication with customers and suppliers, documentation of procurement activities, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in supplier evaluation and Request for Quotation (RFQ) preparation and management.
• Candidates should possess skills in purchase order creation, tracking, and procurement documentation.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical skills for cost comparison, data analysis, and decision-making.

• Relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) and prior experience in sales or procurement in manufacturing or material-handling equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications, with good negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic ERP or procurement systems; familiarity with industrial cranes, conveyors, or storage systems is an advantage.
