Role & responsibilities

A Safety Officer in a solar company enforces health, safety, and environmental regulations across solar farm construction sites or manufacturing plants. They manage electrical and height hazards, conduct safety audits, run daily toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with local labour and power laws.

Site Inspections: Check daily operations, scaffolding, heavy machinery, and electrical wiring for risks.

Solar-Specific Safety: Oversee high-risk tasks like photovoltaic module installation, DC cabling, inverter setup, and grid/substation tie-ins.

Risk Control: Implement Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.

Training & Drills: Lead safety inductions, daily toolbox talks, and mock emergency drills for workers and contractors.

Incident Response: Investigate accidents or near-misses and draft corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
