Job summary

Adani Group is seeking an Engineer - Safety (Solar) to oversee ground-level safety operations at solar sites across Gujarat. You will implement safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, perform risk assessments, and lead incident investigations to prevent incidents.

Responsibilities include contractor engagement, safety evaluations, on-site training, and maintaining safety logs for audits. 2–4 years of solar site safety experience and NEBOSH/IOSH certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields).
  • Advanced Diploma/ Post Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.
  • Basic safety certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: 2-4 years of experience in solar site safety implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with site-level safety inspections and hazard mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Ground-Level HSE Implementation: Execute safety protocols and guidelines at the operational level, ensuring daily compliance with safety standards and addressing any deviations promptly.
  • Conduct safety toolbox talks and risk assessments for ongoing solar site activities, ensuring hazards are identified and controlled effectively.
  • Incident Prevention and Response: Monitor site activities to identify unsafe acts and conditions, implementing corrective measures and escalating unresolved issues to the Associate - Safety (Solar).
  • Record and report all incidents and near-misses, assisting in root cause analysis and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
  • Contractor Engagement: Work closely with contractors to ensure they comply with site safety requirements, conducting inspections and providing guidance as needed.
  • Participate in contractor safety evaluations, helping to identify gaps in their practices and recommending improvement measures.
  • Employee Training and Skill Development: Deliver on-the-ground safety training sessions for employees and contractors, focusing on critical solar site hazards and emergency procedures.
  • Distribute safety materials, such as posters and guidelines, to reinforce safety practices among site personnel.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Conduct task-specific risk assessments for daily operations, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to minimize hazards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented risk controls, providing feedback to site leads for continuous improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety logs, records, and reports, ensuring they are readily available for audits and internal reviews.
  • Utilize digital tools to update site safety data, ensuring timely reporting of incidents, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators.
