Job summary

Bondada Group is seeking a Safety Head – Solar to lead Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities on Solar PV projects, ensuring compliance with laws, client requirements, and international safety standards while fostering a strong safety culture across all sites.

The role involves developing and reviewing HSE plans, leading site safety teams, coordinating with clients and regulators, conducting training and drills, and driving environmental and safety performance across multiple project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) or equivalent.
  • 8–15 years of HSE experience, with at least 5 years in solar, power, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, electrical safety, and renewable energy project risks.
  • Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and HSE auditing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the HSE Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, client HSE requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Prepare and review project-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, JSA, SWMS, and emergency response plans.
  • Lead site safety teams and coordinate HSE activities across multiple project locations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify hazards.
  • Monitor high-risk activities, including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, electrical work, confined space entry, and hot work.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, training programs, and emergency drills for employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and subcontractors on HSE matters.
  • Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, spill prevention, dust control, and pollution prevention measures.
  • Maintain HSE records, statutory documentation, inspection reports, incident reports, and safety performance metrics.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary

The Safety Head is responsible for leading and managing all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities for solar PV projects. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws, client requirements, company HSE policies, and international safety standards while fostering a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, client HSE requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Prepare and review project-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and emergency response plans.
  • Lead site safety teams and coordinate HSE activities across multiple project locations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify and eliminate hazards.
  • Monitor high-risk activities, including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, electrical work, confined space entry, and hot work.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and training skills.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Zero fatalities and reduction in Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).
  • Achievement of project HSE targets and regulatory compliance.
  • Timely closure of safety observations, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Completion of mandatory HSE training and emergency drills.
  • Reduction in near misses, unsafe acts, and environmental incidents.
  • Positive client HSE audit results and successful project safety performance.
