Job summary

SGS India is seeking a Safety Officer to oversee day-to-day site safety supervision across solar and wind project construction and operation sites. The role focuses on hazard identification, risk mitigation, contractor safety management, and continuous HSE improvement to achieve a zeroharm workplace.

You will implement and monitor the HSE management system, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead safety trainings and incident investigations at remote project locations.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma or engineering/science degree is required.
• Diploma in industrial safety is mandatory.
• NEBOSH IGC / PDIS / IOSH or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HSE compliance and implementation on sites.
• Identify hazards and manage risks across projects.
• Oversee PTW and LOTO controls for safe operations.
• Promote safety in renewable energy project sites.
• Manage contractor and workforce safety.
• Conduct site inspections and audits, report findings.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and raise safety awareness.
• Prepare for emergencies and coordinate response.

The role focuses on hazard identification, risk mitigation, contractor safety management, accident prevention, and continuous improvement of HSE performance to achieve a zeroharm workplace.
