Job summary

Hetero in Telangana seeks a Process Safety Specialist to drive risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety improvements across facilities. You will facilitate HAZOP/HAZID studies, review changes, and support MOC activities to ensure robust protective measures.

The role involves coordinating with Production, Engineering, QA, R&D and EHS teams, conducting audits, and delivering safety training to employees and contractors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct and facilitate HAZOP, HAZID and What-if studies.
• Support implementation of PSM across facilities.
• Review safety aspects of new products, process changes, scale-up, projects, and plant modifications.
• Support MOC activities and assess process safety risks.
• Conduct incident/near-miss investigations and root cause analysis.
• Review process safety documents, SOPs, operating procedures, and interlocks.
• Support evaluation of chemical hazards, reaction hazards, thermal risks, pressure hazards, and runaway scenarios.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Projects, QA, R&D, and EHS teams for process safety improvements.
• Conduct periodic process safety audits and compliance assessments.
• Support fire and explosion risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and drills.
• Monitor implementation of critical safety controls, interlocks, alarms, trips, and safety systems.
• Prepare and maintain Process Safety MIS, reports, risk registers, and compliance trackers.
• Conduct process safety awareness and training programs for employees and contractors.
• Drive initiatives for risk reduction, loss prevention, and continuous improvement.

• Review process safety aspects of new products, process changes, scale-up, projects, and plant modifications.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) activities and ensure proper assessment of process safety risks.
• Conduct incident/near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Review process safety documents, SOPs, operating procedures, and safety interlocks.
• Support evaluation of chemical hazards, reaction hazards, thermal risks, pressure hazards, and runaway reaction scenarios.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Projects, QA, R&D, and EHS teams for process safety improvements.
