Job summary

TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) is seeking a Safety & EHS Specialist to implement and monitor policies across plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and statutory requirements.

You will conduct inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations, coordinating with Operations, HR, Engineering, Maintenance, and Security to drive continuous safety improvements and maintain PPE availability.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and safety standards across plant operations.
• Conduct regular plant safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and practices and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and safety observations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Factories Act, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct safety induction and regular toolbox talks / safety training for employees, contract workers, and visitors.
• Monitor PPE compliance and ensure appropriate PPE is available and used.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare reports.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, including fire, evacuation, and other emergency response activities.
• Monitor fire safety systems, emergency exits, first-aid arrangements, and other critical safety equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors and ensure compliance with contractor safety requirements.
• Maintain safety records, registers, reports, and statutory documentation.
• Track and close safety audit observations and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety committee meetings and support safety awareness initiatives.
• Work closely with Operations, HR, Engineering, Maintenance, and Security teams to improve overall plant safety.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and improve safety performance.
