Industry: Solar EPC – Industrial Rooftop & Ground Mounted Projects

Position Overview
Swid Renewables Limited is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead, implement, and monitor Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices across multiple Industrial Rooftop Solar Project Sites.
The role demands a dynamic professional capable of ensuring the highest standards of safety compliance through a combination of virtual monitoring and physical site presence. The Safety Manager will supervise site Safety Supervisors, conduct audits, enforce statutory compliance, and drive a zero-incident safety culture across all ongoing projects.
Frequent inter-city and intra-state travel to project sites is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Site Safety Governance
- Monitor safety performance across multiple industrial rooftop solar sites simultaneously.
- Ensure uniform implementation of company safety policies and client-mandated HSE standards.
- Supervise and guide on-site Safety Supervisors and Officers.
2. Virtual Safety Monitoring
- Conduct remote safety reviews via CCTV, video calls, digital dashboards, and site reporting systems.
- Review daily safety reports, Tool Box Talks (TBT), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Track compliance through digital safety checklists and photographic evidence.
3. Physical Site Audits & Inspections
- Undertake periodic and surprise site visits.
- Conduct comprehensive safety audits covering:
- Work at Height practices
- Lifeline & anchorage systems
- Scaffolding & access compliance
- Electrical safety
- Material handling & lifting operations
- Publish audit reports with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
4. Safety Supervisor Management
- Lead, train, and evaluate site Safety Supervisors.
- Ensure supervisors conduct daily briefings and enforce PPE discipline.
- Build accountability through performance tracking and incident reporting.
5. Statutory & Client Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IS standards, Factory Act norms, and client safety guidelines.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and certifications.
- Liaise with client EHS teams during audits and reviews.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Implement preventive systems to avoid recurrence.
7. Safety Training & Culture Building
- Conduct safety inductions and periodic training programs.
- Drive campaigns on:
- Work at Height Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Emergency Response
- Promote a proactive “Safety First” culture across sites.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Publish weekly and monthly safety dashboards.
- Track KPIs such as:
- Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR)
- Near Miss Reports
- PPE Compliance %
- Audit Closure Rates
Mandatory Travel Requirement
- Visiting multiple project sites across Maharashtra and other states will be mandatory.
- Travel frequency: 50% – 70% of working time.
- Ability to conduct audits at short notice is essential.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Safety.
Advanced Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH preferred.
5–10+ years of HSE experience in Solar EPC / Construction / Industrial Projects.
Proven experience in Work at Height and Rooftop Safety Management.
- Strong knowledge of rooftop solar installation risks.
- Expertise in lifeline systems, fall arrestors, and anchorage design.
- Leadership and multi-site team management capability.
- Audit, inspection, and compliance expertise.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
