Job summary

Vatika Garden in Balangir, Odisha seeks an experienced Operations Manager to take full ownership of the Restaurant, Bakery and Banquet segments. This senior role reports directly to the Promoter, with full operational authority to build systems, fix problems and lead teams.

Ideal candidate has 5–8 years in catering operations, with 3–4 years in a leadership role and proven cost controls. Relocation to Balangir and Odia language skills are advantageous; accommodation and growth opportunities are

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Restaurant, Bakery and Banquet.
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage staff performance.
• Control food costs, reduce wastage, manage inventory.
• Create SOPs and build systems.
• Prepare daily sales, cash reconciliation and POS closing reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and manage purchases.
• Handle customer concerns and resolutions.
• Supervise events from inquiry to booking and execution.

The Role

We are looking for a hands‑on Operations Manager who takes complete ownership of our Restaurant, Bakery and Banquet. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Promoter with full operational authority. We need someone who builds systems, fixes problems and leads people not someone who simply maintains and reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete daily operations Restaurant, Bakery and Banquet
• Staff recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management
• Food cost control, wastage reduction and inventory management
• SOP creation and systems building
• Daily sales, cash reconciliation and POS closing reports
• Vendor coordination and purchase management
• Customer handling and complaint resolution
• Party and event enquiry, booking and supervision

Experience Required

Minimum 5 to 8 years total experience in restaurant, bakery, banquet in catering or caf operations with at least 3 to 4 years independently managing a team, daily operations and cost controls.

Candidates currently working as Captain, Steward or Kitchen Staff please note — this role requires proven managerial experience and will not be suitable.

Ideal Candidate

• Age 30 to 45 years
• Background in standalone restaurant, bakery, banquet or catering — hotel experience alone is not sufficient
• Candidates from Odisha or Western Odisha strongly preferred
• Willing to relocate to Balangir with genuine long term commitment
• Odia speaking or understanding is a strong advantage
• Honest, disciplined, hardworking and a natural team leader
• Comfortable with WhatsApp reporting, POS systems and basic Excel
