Job summary

OPTEL is seeking an engineer to oversee the maintenance, installation, and support of electronic and electromechanical systems used in production and packaging lines. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting of electrical components, working with mechanical systems, and ensuring seamless operation of equipment.

You will also engage with IT networking, basic software programming, and provide client-facing support, while documenting procedures and trainings for operators on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and supporting electronic and electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of circuitry, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with IP networking, routing, cabling, and network troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of software programming; Python knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electronic components, mechanical systems, and electromechanical machinery, including optics equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, components, and systems, including wiring, terminating, and testing circuits.
• Interpret schematics, electrical symbols, voltage calculations, and circuit flow analysis.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of sensitive hardware, software, and OEM equipment.
• Support product integration, validation, and performance qualification of new installations at client sites.
• Coordinate with customers and technical teams to resolve production-line issues efficiently.
• Deliver basic system training to operators and demonstrate installed equipment functionality.
• Provide IT networking support, including hardware setup, IP addressing, networking protocols, routers, and switches.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and maintenance activities.

Job Summary:

Additionally, they should be familiar with IT networking and have a basic understanding of software programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic components, mechanical systems, and electromechanical machinery, including optics equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, components, and systems, including wiring, terminating, and testing circuits
• Interpret and work with schematic diagrams, electrical symbols, voltage calculations, and circuit flow analysis
• Ensure proper handling, installation, and maintenance of sensitive electronic hardware, software, and OEM equipment
• Support product integration, project validation, and performance qualification of new installations at client sites
• Coordinate between customers and technical support teams to resolve issues on production lines efficiently
• Deliver basic system training to operators and demonstrate the functionality of installed equipment
• Provide IT networking support, including hardware setup, IP addressing, networking protocols, routers, switches, and general connectivity troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation of technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance activities

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Diploma/Degree Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting electronic and electromechanical systems
• Strong knowledge of circuitry, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience with mechanical assembly, drilling, and mounting electronic components in various materials
• Familiarity with IP networking, domain identification, routing, cabling, and network troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of software programming; Knowledge of Python or line-level coding is a plus
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with clients and teams
• Language Requirements: Must be able to clearly speak and write in English and Hindi. Strong communication and professional presentation skills are essential
• Travel Requirements: This position requires frequent and extended travel. Candidates must be prepared to travel a minimum of three weeks per month, including possible weekend over-stays when installations exceed six business days
