Job summary

Acim Global Appliance is seeking a Maintenance Electronics Technician to perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex PLC systems across factory sectors. You will work on the production floor and in the Repair Shop, diagnosing PLC logic, industrial networks, and robot cells while maintaining shop infrastructure.

Responsibilities include bench repair of PCBs, calibration of test rigs, wiring/interface work, and ensuring safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Formal electronics/automation education is required.
• Strong ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and automation charts.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial controls in high-tech manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and hardware troubleshooting on PLC environments.

Job description

The Maintenance Electronics Technician is responsible for executing advanced predictive, preventive, and corrective electronic maintenance, automation troubleshooting, and high-value asset calibration across all factory sectors. Operating both on the production floor and within the internal specialized Repair Shop, the technician's core focus is diagnosing complex PLC logic architectures, industrial communication networks, and robotic cells, as well as executing board-level component repairs, constructing specialized test rigs, and managing the electronics workshop infrastructure to maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), minimize MTTR, and reduce plant Capex.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Automation & PLCs Management: Perform advanced diagnostics, hardware troubleshooting, online monitoring, logic modifications, and complete software/firmware backups in complex PLC environments including Siemens (S5, S7, TIA Portal), Rockwell (Logix 5000, SLC500), Mitsubishi, and Omron.
2. Component-Level Electronic Repair & Benchmarking: Diagnose, solder, and rebuild printed circuit boards (PCB - SMT/THT technology), industrial monitors, multi-drive systems, power supplies, high-power electronics circuits, and specialized CNC commands (Fanuc, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth) at the workshop bench level, striving to continuously increase MTBF.
3. Internal Repair Shop Infrastructure: Operate, install, and execute regular maintenance on specialized electronic testing rigs, internal calibration benches (gigas de teste), and dedicated diagnosis tools available within the electronic workshop.
4. Cabling & Signal Interfacing: Coordinate the manufacturing, configuration, and structural mapping of high-grade industrial communication cables, power cables, and low-voltage signal cabling interfaces.
5. Robotics & Motion Control: Lead parameterization, program sequence checking, coordinate point remastering, variable forcing, and total electronics restoration of multi-axis articulated and Cartesian robotic systems (Kuka, Kawasaki, ABB).
6. Industrial Network Troubleshooting: Inspect, debug, and maintain complex plant-wide industrial communication architectures, including PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Industrial Ethernet, AS-Interface (ASI), and DeviceNet networks.
7. Drives and Servo Systems: Configure, tune, parameterize, and replace high-performance frequency inverters, servo drives, and soft-starters (ABB, Siemens, Weg, Yaskawa) including encoder/resolver feedback alignment.
8. End-of-Line Test Systems: Ensure continuous availability, hardware calibration, probe maintenance, and safety verification protocols for critical compressor electrical testing stations (Surge Test, Hi-Pot, ohmic resistance, and vibration analysis measurement panels).
9. Continuous Improvement & Project Support: Actively support plant-wide industrial projects involving overall machine electronics, proposing engineering modifications to optimize operational routine and handle emergency line stoppages.
10. Data Integrity & CMMS: Document failure phenomena using root-cause analytical tools (EWO, 5 Whys), manage software licensing, update electronic hardware modifications on schematic blueprints, and report full technical closure within the SAP/CMMS system.
11. EHS & Standard Compliance: Ensure all high-tech automation and control interventions comply with international automation standards (ISO 13849), local EHS regulations, and Indian Standard (BIS). Enforce strict 6S cell organization and adhere to the company's Safety Golden Rules.

REQUIREMENTS AND HARD & SOFT SKILLS

Education: Completed Technical Course or Diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related technical fields.

Technical Knowledge: Mastery in reading complex electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and functional automation charts. Proficient with advanced industrial IT tools (firmware updates, communication drivers, hardware imaging, and network analyzers). Thorough knowledge of electrical, electronic, and control components relevant to the plant area.

Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical vision for data-driven troubleshooting, immediate response agility under manufacturing pressure, and strong meticulous attention to component safety limits.

Additional Information

Languages: Intermediate to Advanced English (essential for software parameterization, automation manual reading, and technical supplier interfacing).

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years in high-tech industrial automation, electronic hardware maintenance, or specialized electronic workshop operations, with grading correlated to competence matrix maturity levels.

Industrial areas/sector: Industrial Control and Automation preferred, High-Precision Machinery Manufacturing, Compressors / HVAC, Automotive Powertrain, or Semiconductor/Consumer Electronics.
