Job summary

Kineco in Goa, India, is seeking a diligent Quality Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, review drawings and BOMs, and maintain inspection plans and reports. You will work with various measurement tools, monitor fabrication quality, and ensure compliance with defence project documentation.

The role requires familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality standards, strong documentation skills, and the ability to drive corrective actions through CAPA and NCR processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Quality Control & Quality Assurance in manufacturing.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and dimensional inspection.
• Knowledge of welding/fabrication, machining, sheet metal and assembly quality.
• Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, NCR, FMEA, SPC and MSA.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001; AS9100 exposure is a plus.
• Experience with inspection instruments and measuring equipment.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of components, fabricated parts, machined parts, assemblies, and finished products.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Quality Plans, check sheets, and inspection reports.
• Conduct dimensional inspection using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Gauges, CMM and other measuring instruments.
• Monitor quality of sheet metal, fabrication, welding, machining, painting/coating and assembly processes.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and defence project documentation.
• Identify Non-Conformities (NCRs) and coordinate with Production/Engineering for Root Cause Analysis, CAPA and corrective actions.
• Support 8D, RCA, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC activities.
• Conduct process and product audits and support internal, customer and third-party audits.
• Verify material certificates, inspection reports, test certificates, traceability records and quality documentation.
• Monitor calibration status of measuring and testing equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers for quality issues, inspection requirements and corrective actions.
• Maintain complete quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA and customer documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints and process variation.
