Job summary

Azad Engineering seeks a Quality Engineer to lead inspection and process control in a precision manufacturing setting. You will apply GD&T, read blueprints, operate CMMs, and review inspection reports to ensure product conformity.

You will collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to implement CAPA and NCR handling, and drive SPC-driven improvements across in-process, final, and post-special-process inspections.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with CMM operations and inspection reports.
• Familiar with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Proficiency in SPC and MSA applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) per customer and industry requirements with drawings and quality standards.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for defects and implement corrective actions.
• Perform process validation to ensure manufacturing processes meet requirements.
• Implement and monitor SPC to identify variations and maintain stability.
• Manage NCRs: identify, document, investigate, and close quality issues.
• Drive CAPA to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Perform in-process, final, and post-special-process inspections for conformity.
• Prepare and maintain inspection plans, quality records, and reports.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) as per customer and industry requirements, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process and product defects and implement effective corrective actions.
• Perform process validation to ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet specified quality and performance requirements.
• Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify process variations and maintain process stability.
• Manage Non-Conformances (NCRs), including identification, documentation, investigation, and closure of quality issues.
• Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate the root causes of non-conformities and prevent recurrence.
• Perform in-process, final, and post-special-process inspections to ensure product conformity at all stages of manufacturing.
• Prepare and maintain inspection plans, quality records, and inspection reports in accordance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and industry/customer specifications.
• Understanding of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operations and experience in reviewing CMM inspection reports.
• Good knowledge of CNC machining processes, particularly precision machining.
• Experience in developing and implementing Inspection Plans and inspection methodologies.
• Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
• Working knowledge of MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
• Strong understanding of quality control practices, inspection techniques, and manufacturing processes.
