Responsibilities

  • Inspect fabricated panels, assemblies, and mechanical components at various stages of production.

  • Perform dimensional inspection using vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, height gauges, etc.
  • Check welding, cutting, bending, drilling, grinding, fit-up, and assembly quality.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure compliance with customer workmanship standards and perform in-process and final inspections.
  • Prepare inspection reports, check sheets, NCRs, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Maintain traceability of materials and components and ensure proper inspection records.
  • Support internal and customer inspections when required.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Quality Control Mechanical Engineer with around 2 years of experience in fabrication panels. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting fabricated components and panels, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect fabricated panels, assemblies, and mechanical components at various stages of production.
  • Review mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Perform dimensional inspection using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, height gauges, etc.
  • Check welding, cutting, bending, drilling, grinding, fit-up, and assembly quality.
  • Communicate powder coating requirements to suppliers as per approved customer workmanship standards. Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated panels.
  • Identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities and coordinate with the production team for corrective actions.
  • Prepare inspection reports, check sheets, NCRs, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Ensure fabrication work is carried out according to approved drawings and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with production, design, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain inspection records and ensure proper traceability of materials and components.
  • Support internal and customer inspections when required.
  • Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Fabrication Planning & Delivery-
  • Coordinate fabrication planning activities based on project schedules, production priorities, and material availability.
  • Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Stores, and Design teams to avoid material shortages and production delays.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Inspection, preferably in fabrication panels, sheet-metal fabrication, electrical panels, or industrial fabrication.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical drawings and fabrication processes.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication inspection methods.
  • Ability to use basic mechanical measuring and inspection instruments.
  • Good understanding of dimensional tolerances and workmanship requirements.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain quality documentation.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation.
