Job summary

SGS India is seeking a Mechanical Quality Engineer to oversee welding inspection, WPS/PQR reviews, and site fabrication activities for cement plant equipment. The role requires hands-on knowledge of erection protocols and foundation bolt verification, with attention to quality standards and safety.

The ideal candidate has BE/ BTech in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience in QA/QC, welding processes, drawings review, and fabrication oversight on site.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical quality assurance/inspection.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Welding process and welding inspection, welder test certification, WPS and PQR review.
• Checking and witnessing Fabrication of all site fabricated items
• Preparing fabrication and erection protocols and updating daily reports
• Safe execution of fabrication and erection as per QAP
• Knowledge of Erection activities for site fabricated items
• PUNCH Points identification and closure
• Civil foundation bolt fixing, verification/clearance/Protocols before casting
