Job Title: Billing / Quantity Surveying (QS) Engineer

Department: Projects / Billing & Contracts

Job Purpose

To manage project billing, quantity take-offs, cost monitoring, and contract compliance to ensure accurate financial tracking and timely invoicing for industrial construction projects. The Billing/QS Engineer will coordinate closely with site teams, clients, consultants, and internal departments to maintain precise documentation and support smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Measurement

• Prepare RA Bills, final bills, and reconciliation statements as per contract conditions.
  
• Conduct detailed site measurements and verify contractor/vendor bills.
  
• Ensure timely submission and certification of client bills.
  
• Maintain accurate records of joint measurements and site measurement books.
  

2. Quantity Estimation & BOQ Preparation

• Prepare and verify BOQ, quantity take-offs, and material requirement sheets from drawings and specifications.
  
• Evaluate quantity variations and support preparation of revised estimates.
  

3. Cost Monitoring & Control

• Track project-wise costs, consumption, and budget utilization.
  
• Conduct rate analysis for civil, structural, and industrial works.
  
• Assist in forecasting project financials and cost-to-complete statements.
  

4. Documentation & Contracts

• Prepare and maintain all billing-related documentation, including supporting calculations, measurement sheets, and backup records.
  
• Review contract clauses to ensure compliance with billing procedures.
  
• Assist in preparation of claims, variations, and change orders.
  

5. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement teams, and accounts for smooth billing workflow.
  
• Liaise with clients and consultants for bill approvals and clarifications.
  
• Support project managers with MIS reports and monthly progress documentation.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of industrial construction and civil engineering work items.
  
• Proficiency in rate analysis, quantity take-offs, and cost control.
  
• Hands-on experience in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and ERP/billing software.
  
• Good communication, documentation, and negotiation skills.
  
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (civil & structural).
  
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  
• Relevant experience in industrial, factory, warehouse, or heavy civil projects preferred.
