Job summary

The Nest is seeking a Senior QA/QC Engineer for our residential projects (Stilt + 5 Floors) in Chennai. You will lead quality assurance and control activities, implement QA/QC plans, and ensure conformance with drawings, codes, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities include conducting inspections of structural and finishing works, reviewing IRs/MIRs, managing NCRs, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 8–12 years of QA/QC experience in residential building construction.
  • Experience with Stilt + Multi-Storey residential buildings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the QA/QC plan per project requirements.
  • Inspect structural and finishing works for compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Review IRs and MIRs and manage NCRs; ensure timely corrective actions.

Job description

Senior QA/QC Engineer Residential Projects

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer for our residential construction project (Stilt + 5 Floors). The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in quality assurance and quality control for structural and finishing works in residential buildings. The candidate will be responsible for implementing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, and maintaining the highest construction quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the QA/QC plan in accordance with project requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of structural and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concreting, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, and all finishing works.
  • Review and approve Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and quality-related documentation.
  • Monitor incoming construction materials and ensure compliance with approved material specifications.
  • Identify quality issues, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct regular site quality audits and monitor subcontractor compliance with QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, architects, structural consultants, MEP engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare quality reports, inspection records, checklists, method statements, and test reports.
  • Monitor concrete testing, cube test results, field density tests, waterproofing tests, and other quality control activities.
  • Verify completed works before client and consultant inspections.
  • Prepare snag lists, monitor rectification works, and ensure successful project handover.
  • Support internal and external quality audits and maintain all QA/QC documentation.

Qualifications
