Qualifications

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer to lead and manage quality assurance and quality control activities across construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for establishing and implementing project quality systems, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, applicable codes, and project quality requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, site inspection experience, documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement project-specific QA/QC plans and quality management systems.
  • Supervise and guide QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and site quality teams.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and applicable standards.
  • Plan and conduct inspections for civil and structural works at various stages of construction.
  • Review and approve Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Inspection Requests (IRs/WIRs), and quality documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and implement ITPs, checklists, method statements, inspection procedures, and quality formats.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on quality-related matters.
  • Review material submittals, technical submissions, shop drawings, and material test certificates.
  • Monitor quality of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, waterproofing, structural works, finishing works, and other civil works.
  • Coordinate and witness laboratory and field testing for concrete, soil, aggregates, reinforcement, and other construction materials.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing activities comply with project specifications and applicable IS/BS/ASTM/ACI standards.
  • Identify quality issues and raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) wherever required.
  • Lead investigation of quality-related issues and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Follow up on NCR closure and maintain proper documentation of corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and site inspections to identify potential defects and prevent rework.
  • Coordinate and support internal, client, consultant, and external quality audits.
  • Ensure calibration of measuring and testing equipment and maintain calibration records.
  • Maintain complete quality documentation, inspection reports, test reports, approvals, material records, and quality registers.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports and quality dashboards.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Participate in quality meetings and provide technical solutions for construction-related quality issues.
  • Review and close quality observations, punch points, snag lists, and outstanding inspection issues.
  • Support project teams in implementing quality improvement and preventive measures.
  • Ensure effective implementation of ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems where applicable.
  • Promote a strong quality culture, first-time-right approach, and continuous improvement across project teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 7–11 years of relevant experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
  • Strong experience in civil and structural construction quality control.
  • Proven experience handling QA/QC teams and site quality activities.
  • Strong knowledge of drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with MIRs, IRs/WIRs, NCRs, CAPA, material approvals, testing, and quality audits.
  • Good knowledge of IS/BS/ASTM/ACI standards and project-specific specifications.
  • Strong understanding of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural, masonry, waterproofing, and finishing works.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to independently manage quality activities and resolve site quality issues.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, high-rise, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience leading QA/QC teams.
  • Knowledge of quality management and inspection software.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and quality reporting tools.
  • Relevant QA/QC or ISO certifications will be an advantage.
  • Experience in client/consultant coordination and quality audits will be preferred.
