Job summary

KatalAiser is seeking a Head – QA/QC to lead the quality assurance and control across multiple real estate and infrastructure projects in Chennai. The role requires a deep knowledge of quality systems, inspection procedures, and ISO 9001 standards, with responsibility for documenting, auditing, and improving quality processes.

The candidate will mentor QA/QC teams, coordinate with Project, Engineering, Design, Procurement, and Construction teams, and ensure adherence to contractual requirements

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in QA/QC, quality management, construction, real estate, or infrastructure.
• Experience managing QA/QC across large-scale residential, commercial, high-rise, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant construction codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC across multiple real estate and construction projects.
• Develop and implement quality management systems, policies, procedures, and ITPs.
• Establish quality standards and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, codes, and contracts.
• Oversee QC activities for civil, structural, architectural, MEP, finishing works.
• Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, checklists, and procedures.
• Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and site reviews across projects.
• Ensure compliance with national and international construction standards and codes.
• Monitor quality performance of contractors, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Identify non-conformities and ensure timely corrective actions and preventive actions.
• Lead root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review material approvals, testing reports, laboratory results, and quality documentation.
• Maintain quality records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Project, Engineering, Design, Procurement, and Construction teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and monitor project quality KPIs and report to senior management.
• Lead internal and external quality audits and close audit observations.
• Support development of quality standards and best practices across the organisation.
• Build, lead, and mentor QA/QC teams across multiple projects.

Required Experience & Skills

• 20+ years of experience in QA/QC, Quality Management, Construction, Real Estate, or Infrastructure.
• Strong experience managing QA/QC functions across large-scale residential, commercial, high-rise, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, inspection procedures, testing, and quality management systems.
• Experience across Civil, Structural, Architectural, MEP, and Finishing works.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and relevant construction codes and standards.
• Experience in handling contractors, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Strong expertise in quality audits, NCR management, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Additional qualifications in Quality Management, QA/QC, or ISO 9001 will be an advantage.

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates from Real Estate Developers, Construction Companies, Infrastructure Companies, EPC Organisations, and Large Project Management Consultancies will be preferred.
