About the role :-

We are a fast-moving product engineering team building AI-powered job-matching and recruiting platforms for India and international markets. We ship quickly and we are investing in quality as a core part of how we build.

In this role, you'll own quality across our products and have real influence over how we test defining test strategy, standards, and where to apply automation first.

You’ll work directly with developers, the product manager, and our overseas stakeholder teams.

It's equal parts hands-on testing and engineering: you'll do exploratory and functional testing on new features and write the automated test suites and CI gates that stop bugs from reaching production.

What you'll do :-

1. Own quality end-to-end - test new features across web applications functional, exploratory, regression, and edge-case testing before release.
2. Write clear, reproducible bug reports and work with developers on root cause, not just symptoms.
3. Define test plans and acceptance criteria alongside the PM and engineers. Build test automation from the ground up
4. Design and grow automated test suites: API/integration tests and end-to-end UI tests.
5. Expand coverage from a small existing base to the areas that carry the most production risk. Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline as a blocking quality gate so broken builds don't deploy.
6. Protect production - Set up post-deploy smoke tests and help define rollback/safety checks. Validate data integrity across services and databases (sync, migrations, imports).
7. Build regression coverage so we can keep shipping fast without breaking existing behaviour. Set the standard
8. Establish QA processes, documentation, and definitions of ready to ship that the whole team can follow.
9. Continuously improve our testing processes and tooling as the team scales.

What we’re looking for (must-haves)

1. 3+ years in QA / software testing, with real hands-on ownership of test quality for web applications.
2. Strong grasp of testing fundamentals: test design, test planning, functional vs. regression vs. exploratory testing, and how to prioritise coverage by risk.
3. Test automation experience with at least one modern framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for UI; pytest, Jest, or similar for API/unit-level tests).
4. 4.Comfortable reading and writing code in at least one language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) enough to build and maintain test suites independently. API testing experience (Postman, REST clients, or code-based) and comfort validating requests/responses.
5. 5.SQL / database skills to verify data directly (we run PostgreSQL). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the idea of tests as an automated gate (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).Version control with Git.
6. 4.Clear written communication you'll document tests and file bugs that developers and non- engineers can both act on.

Nice to have (bonus, not required)

• Exposure to testing AI/ML or LLM-powered features and thinking about output quality evaluation.
• Experience with AWS (S3, basic cloud concepts) and cloud-hosted apps.
• Performance/load testing basics.
• Experience testing products for international markets (localisation, multi-language, multi-region behaviour)
• Familiarity with search or recommendation systems. Tech environment you'll work with Backend/data: PostgreSQL, AWS (S3, Secrets Manager). CI/CD: Bitbucket Pipelines.
• ..App layer: modern web stack, REST APIs, several third-party integrations.AI layer: LLM-powered features (recommendation, matching, search).
• Existing tests: a small suite covering auth, permissions, and core routes your job is to grow it meaningfully.
