We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer / SDET who can take ownership of software quality across the Full Stack - UI, Frontend, API, backend, and database layers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both manual testing and automation, can investigate issues beyond Traditional QA, and wants to work closely with developers and engineering teams.
Location: Surat, Gujarat (Candidates must be currently based in Surat or be willing to relocate to Surat)
Work Mode: On-site

Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing of web applications.
- Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Test REST/GraphQL APIs using Postman and Swagger.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium or Playwright.
- Write automation scripts using TypeScript/ Python/ Java or any other relevant language.
- Automate functional, regression, smoke, and critical user-flow test cases.
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks.
- Perform API automation and validation.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Perform cross-browser and responsive testing across devices.
- Analyse automation failures and identify the root cause of defects.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and verify issues.
- Validate application behavior across frontend, API, backend, and database layers.
Quality Engineering & Debugging
- Investigate defects across UI, API, backend, and database layers.
- Perform root cause analysis rather than only reporting symptoms.
- Work closely with developers, product teams, and architects to improve product quality.
- Participate in test strategy, release planning, and quality discussions.
- Challenge technical decisions when required and recommend practical quality improvements.
Must-Have Skills and Qualification
- 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in software testing/quality engineering.
- Strong understanding of manual testing fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with API testing using Postman and/or Swagger.
- Good knowledge of SQL/MySQL for data validation.
- Understanding of functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Good debugging and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with Git/version control.
- Strong communication skills and maturity to challenge technical decisions constructively & propose solutions.
Good to Have
- Playwright with TypeScript.
- API automation.
- Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- BrowserStack.
- JMeter or other performance-testing tools.
- OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or knowledge of OWASP Top 10.
- Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience developing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Previous experience in frontend or backend development.
