Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store is seeking a Purchase Officer in Maharashtra to handle end-to-end procurement of maintenance items, raw materials, and instrument transformer components, ensuring timely availability and quality compliance.

You will source suppliers, generate RFQs, negotiate prices, and manage POs in ERP systems while coordinating with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams. Strong cost-optimization and supplier management skills are essential for success.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

The Purchase Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of maintenance items, instrument transformer components, and raw materials required for manufacturing and operational activities. The role involves supplier sourcing, vendor development, purchase order management, cost optimization, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Procure maintenance consumables, spare parts, utilities-related items, and engineering supplies. Handle procurement of instrument transformer components such as: CRGO cores Copper and aluminum conductors Porcelain/polymer insulators Bushings Gaskets and seals Hardware and fittings Epoxy resin and related materials CT/PT accessories and components. Procure raw materials as per production plans and inventory requirements. Generate RFQs, compare quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize suppliers. Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP systems.

Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers. Maintain supplier database and approved vendor lists. Conduct supplier performance evaluations on quality, cost, and delivery parameters. Negotiate commercial terms, payment conditions, and supply agreements.

Cost Optimization: Achieve procurement cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations. Analyze market trends and material price fluctuations. Explore alternative suppliers and substitute materials where technically feasible.

Planning & Coordination: Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and Planning teams for material requirements. Monitor inventory levels and ensure continuous availability of critical materials. Follow up with suppliers for on-time deliveries.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain procurement records, contracts, quotations, and purchase documentation. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements. Track delivery schedules and resolve issues related to quality, shortages, or delays.

MIS & Reporting: Prepare procurement reports, pending PO status reports, vendor performance reports, and cost‑saving analyses. Monitor key procurement KPIs such as delivery adherence, inventory levels, and procurement lead times.
