Job summary

Yamazaki Mazak India is seeking an experienced procurement and supply chain professional to manage end-to-end procurement of direct and indirect materials, coordinate with internal departments, and ensure timely delivery to support production and projects.

The role involves supplier evaluation, negotiations for cost savings, and maintaining supplier data, with a focus on quality compliance and continuous improvement across the procurement process.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of direct and indirect materials.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, compare prices and negotiate with suppliers.
• Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production and project requirements.
• Monitor purchase prices, lead times, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain alternate sources for critical materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding price, quality, delivery, and technical requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply-related issues.
• Conduct supplier follow-ups for pending orders and delayed deliveries.
• Maintain supplier database and procurement records.
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Sales for material requirements.
• Monitor material flow from supplier to plant and ensure uninterrupted production.
• Track material shortages, pending orders, and critical components.
• Prepare and monitor delivery schedules.
• Support smooth inbound logistics and material movement.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability.
• Control excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
• Coordinate with Stores for GRN, material receipt, and stock discrepancies.
• Support inventory planning based on production requirements and consumption.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms.
• Analyze procurement costs and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Monitor payment terms, taxes, freight, and other commercial conditions.
• Maintain proper procurement documentation and records.
• Coordinate with Quality for supplier quality issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure procurement is carried out as per company procedures and specifications.
• Support supplier audits and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with approved supplier and procurement processes.
