Job summary

Shavish Group in Talegaon Dhamdhere, Maharashtra, India seeks a procurement professional to develop alternate sources for critical materials, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive cost reductions.

The role requires strong negotiation, manufacturing procurement knowledge, and expertise in MRP/ERP systems. You will coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to ensure on-time delivery and optimal total cost.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing or electrical environments.
• Experience in handling direct materials, components, job work/subcontracting and supplier development would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop alternate sources for critical materials.
• Strengthen supplier relationships while maintaining commercial discipline.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times and other commercial conditions.
• Drive year-on-year cost reduction initiatives.
• Conduct price benchmarking and should-cost analysis where applicable.
• Negotiate annual price agreements and productivity improvements
• Control purchase price variance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure purchase decisions provide the best total cost, not merely the lowest price.
• Coordinate closely with Production, PPC, Quality, Stores and Engineering.
• Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to committed delivery schedules.
• Approve/review purchase orders as per the organization's authority matrix.
• Ensure purchase orders are released on time.
• Monitor open purchase orders and overdue supplies.
• Follow up with suppliers for critical and shortage materials.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with purchasing procedures.
• Reduce inventory carrying cost.
• Review supplier lead times, MOQ and batch sizes.
• Work with SCM and Stores to improve inventory turns
• Coordinate with Quality for supplier quality issues.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented by suppliers.
• Support development and approval of new suppliers.
• Closely monitor quality of new and developing suppliers, particularly when production volumes are increasing.
• Ensure purchasing priorities are aligned with the production plan and customer requirements.

Qualification & Experience
