You will be responsible for monitoring purchase costs regularly and ensuring they are maintained as per defined norms. Your key responsibilities will include:- Carrying out regular price negotiations with vendors to optimize input costs- Regularly inviting quotations from various vendors for bought out parts and raw materials- Ensuring the quality of products supplied from vendors meets defined standards through regular vendor audits in coordination with the quality function- Monitoring vendor quality product reports and taking corrective action if required in coordination with quality- Developing a pipeline of vendors to hedge against the failure of supply from preferred vendors- Managing and developing vendor relations- Ensuring dispatch of purchase orders to accounts is carried out as per defined Service Level Agreement for timely payments to vendors- Coordinating with Engineering & R&D and process engineering for new component development and ensuring the identification of suppliers for the same- Monitoring and managing store inventory levels- Deploying 5s in the purchase function- Initiating kaizen projects as per the need to improve departmental functioning and bring in efficiencies- Preparing MIS reports as per requirements- Developing subordinates in essential skills required for the job- Handling employee grievances with sensitivity and resolving them as per defined standards- Monitoring subordinate performance and providing constructive feedback regularly to direct reporting subordinates and ensuring their developmentThe preferred candidate profile includes skills such as developing and aligning sourcing strategies with business goals, driving cost optimization and negotiation with vendors, managing RFQs/RFPs and supplier selection processes, and building contingency supplier pipelines with a risk mitigation mindset.
