Job summary

Unicare Fire Safety India Pvt Ltd. is seeking a strategic procurement professional to develop and implement procurement strategies, source and onboard suppliers for raw materials, components, and capital equipment, and drive cost optimization across the supply chain.

The role requires coordinating with production, QA, finance, and engineering to ensure timely material supply and optimal stock levels. You will manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, monitor budgets, and uphold ISO

• Experience in strategic sourcing and procurement aligned with manufacturing goals.
• Ability to source, evaluate and onboard suppliers of raw materials and components.
• Experience with cost optimization, value engineering and supplier consolidation.
• Proven supplier performance assessment and audits.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and procurement compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers for raw materials, components, consumables, and capital equipment.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering, and supplier consolidation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and periodic audits.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, contracts, and delivery schedules to achieve maximum value.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials required for uninterrupted production.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs), monitor order status, and expedite deliveries where necessary.
• Coordinate with production planning, stores, quality, engineering, and finance departments to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor procurement budgets and material costs.
• Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier performance to achieve sustainable cost savings.
• Prepare cost comparison statements and procurement reports for management review.
• Collaborate with planning and inventory teams to maintain optimum stock levels.
• Minimize excess inventory while preventing stock-outs of critical materials.
• Support demand planning and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, ethical sourcing practices, and applicable statutory regulations.
• Identify procurement risks related to supplier dependency, pricing volatility, and material shortages.
• Develop alternate sourcing strategies and maintain business continuity plans.
• Monitor supplier financial and operational performance to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Prepare procurement MIS reports, spend analysis, supplier performance dashboards, and cost-saving reports.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
