Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Source and procure plastic raw materials, master batches, additives, packaging materials, and engineering consumables.


• Obtain quotations from approved suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.


• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requisitions.


• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Supplier Management

• Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.


• Conduct supplier performance reviews and maintain supplier scorecards.


• Coordinate with Quality and Production teams for supplier audits and approvals.


• Ensure supplier compliance with automotive industry standards and customer requirements.

Inventory & Planning

• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock shortages and excess inventory.


• Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, and Logistics teams for material availability.


• Track lead times and maintain optimum stock levels of critical materials.

Cost Control & Negotiation

• Achieve annual cost reduction targets through effective negotiations and alternate sourcing.


• Analyze market trends and raw material price fluctuations.


• Identify opportunities for vendor consolidation and cost optimization.

Coordination & Documentation

• Follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.


• Resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, and quantity discrepancies.


• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and purchase documentation.


• Prepare purchasing reports, MIS reports, and procurement analyses.
