Job summary

Rio Clays in Bhuj, Gujarat, seeks an experienced procurement professional to manage end-to-end procurement for CAPEX, OPEX, project materials, machinery and maintenance items for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include handling RFQs, negotiations, SAP PO creation, vendor development and ensuring timely material availability per schedules. Strong plant-based technical purchasing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have strong plant-based technical purchasing experience.
• BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production or relevant Engineering discipline is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle CAPEX and OPEX procurement for plant and project requirements.
• Purchase machinery, production equipment, utilities, spares, consumables and laboratory equipment.
• Understand technical requirements and coordinate with Projects, Production, Maintenance, Lab and Stores.
• Float RFQs, obtain quotations and prepare technical-commercial comparisons.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery, warranty, installation and service terms.
• Develop new vendors and alternate sources for critical materials and equipment.
• Manage project procurement from requirement stage to delivery and installation support.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and project schedules.
• Handle service procurement including fabrication, maintenance, installation, AMC and contractors.
• Track CAPEX budgets, purchase costs, savings and cost escalation.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders in SAP.
• Monitor pending PRs/POs, vendor deliveries and procurement MIS.
• Evaluate vendor performance on cost, quality, delivery and service.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization and value engineering.
