Job summary

VERT Equipment Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for our manufacturing operations.

The role covers vendor development, sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase orders, material follow-up and ensuring timely availability of materials. The ideal candidate will have 5–9 years of experience in purchase/procurement, with knowledge of machinery, automobile, construction equipment or heavy engineering manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, BBA, B.Com or related field.
• 5 to 9 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering company.
• Experience in machinery, automobile, construction equipment, heavy equipment or engineering manufacturing will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of vendor development, negotiation and procurement processes.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/Purchase software.
• Ability to understand basic technical specifications, drawings and BOMs will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, follow-up and negotiation skills.
• Should be proactive, organized and capable of handling multiple requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchase and procurement activities.
• Source raw materials, machine components, fabricated parts, electrical & hydraulic components, fasteners, consumables and spares.
• Identify and develop new vendors and maintain existing vendor relationships.
• Obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
• Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, R&D and Accounts for material requirements.
• Monitor pending/open POs and expedite critical materials.
• Resolve issues related to shortages, delays, quality and delivery discrepancies.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor database and procurement MIS.
• Conduct market research for competitive pricing and alternate sources.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives and ensure procurement within approved budgets.
