Job summary

Mega Engineering, Pune, is hiring a Purchase Engineer to source, evaluate, and procure engineering materials and services for projects. You will coordinate with engineering, project, quality, stores, and vendors to ensure timely procurement while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

The role requires 2–6 years of procurement experience in EPC, manufacturing, or process plants, with a Diploma or Bachelor's in engineering. Knowledge of vendor management and Zoho is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil or related field.
• Diploma holders with relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Attend and review PRs from engineering, project, and production departments.
• Issue RFQs to suppliers and evaluate quotations.
• Generate Purchase Orders after approvals and finalize payment terms.
• Track POs and ensure on-time delivery and document verification.
• Coordinate with project, production, QA/QC, stores, and finance to resolve procurement issues.

Job Summary

The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing,evaluating, and procuring engineering materials, equipment, and servicesrequired for projects and production. The role involves coordinating withengineering, project, quality, stores, and vendors to ensure timely procurementwhile maintaining quality standards and achieving cost-effective purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Activities

• Receiveand review purchase requisitions (PRs) from engineering, project, andproduction departments.
• Prepareand issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers.
• Obtainand evaluate quotations based on technical and commercial requirements.
• GeneratePurchase Orders (POs) after obtaining necessary approvals.
• Finalizingof effective payment terms.
• Ensuretimely procurement of materials to meet project schedules.
• Identifyand develop new suppliers.
• Evaluatesupplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.
• Buildlong-term relationships with key vendors.
• Coordinatevendor registration and qualification.

Technical Evaluation

• Studyengineering specifications, drawings, BOQs, datasheets, and technicaldocuments.

Commercial Negotiation

• Negotiateprices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and freight terms.

Order Follow-up

• Trackpurchase orders from placement to delivery.
• Followup with vendors to ensure on-time dispatch.
