The role requires 0-3 years of procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally across Engineering, Projects, Operations, and Finance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years in procurement of mechanical or project items, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specs, and procurement processes.

Role & responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for technical materials and equipment.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to align purchases with project needs.
• Negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions to achieve cost-effective and value-driven procurement.
• Monitor and assess supplier quality, adherence to timelines, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Create and manage purchase orders, track delivery status, and coordinate with stores/warehouse to maintain inventory levels as per project timelines.
• Work closely with Engineering, Projects, Operations, and Finance teams to support seamless project execution and procurement planning.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with safety norms, environmental standards, and relevant industry guidelines.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives, supplier optimization, and process improvements across the procurement function.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
• 0-3 years of experience in procurement of mechanical, engineering, or project-related items, ideally in API/ intermediate/ chemical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project procurement processes.
• Proven negotiation skills with experience in vendor management and contract finalization.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities within strict project timelines.
• High level of integrity, ownership, and attention to detail.
