Job summary

JBM Prispac Solution India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Purchase Engineer in Maharashtra to source quality components and services for custom equipment.

You will manage vendor development, negotiate terms, coordinate inventory, and ensure timely deliveries to support manufacturing deadlines. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Eng., with 1–3 years in purchasing for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• 1–3 years in purchase for manufacturing sector.
• Experience with supplier evaluation and cost negotiations.
• Familiarity with BOM and engineering drawings.
• Proficient in Excel; exposure to Tally ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials, fabricated parts, and electrical/instrumentation components per BOM.
• Identify and develop reliable vendors for mechanical, electrical, and automation parts.
• Float RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with design, planning, and stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Track and manage purchase orders, follow up with vendors for dispatches, and handle logistics coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.
• Evaluate supplier quality and performance for cost, quality, and service consistency.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying alternate suppliers or components.
• Ensure procurement compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Participate in regular production meetings to stay aligned with manufacturing priorities.

You will play a key role in ensuring material availability for manufacturing custom process machinery.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in the purchase function for a manufacturing company (preferably custom equipment or capital goods industry).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication processes, machining, and surface treatments.
• Exposure to procurement of electrical panels, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and other automation hardware is a plus.
• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and understanding BOM structures.
• Proficient in using MS Excel, Tally ERP systems for purchase management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
• Detail-oriented with good follow-up and coordination ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi/Marathi.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in sourcing for pressure vessels, agitators, mixers, or other process equipment.
• Knowledge of import procurement and handling international suppliers is an advantage.
• Exposure to ISO/cGMP procurement documentation and traceability standards.
