Job summary

Octillion Power Systems in Pune, Maharashtra is seeking a procurement specialist focused on sheet metal and fabrication commodities. You will prepare cost analyses, drive negotiations, track cost trends and support cost-reduction initiatives.

You will read drawings, apply GD&T, manage supplier panels, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet annual plans. Proficiency in SAP/ERP and supplier management is required for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement of sheet metal and fabrication commodities.
• Ability to perform should-cost analysis and cost breakdowns.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read drawings.
• Experience negotiating terms, prices and contracts with vendors.
• SAP/ERP familiarity for supplier management and purchasing.
• Track record in cost reduction projects and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and perform should-cost analysis.
• Lead price negotiations, RFQs, and contract finalization to meet cost targets.
• Track cost trends of raw materials and electronic components; propose mitigations.
• Support VA/VE and cost reduction projects across E&T C commodities.
• Read and understand drawings, special requirements and GD&T knowledge.
• SAP/ERP knowledge applied to supplier management and purchase orders.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable deals.
• Supplier payment follow-ups per PO terms and NDA sign-off as needed.
• Assess and create supplier panels; manage NDA sign-off processes.
• Vendor capacity planning aligned with annual business plan.
• Procure fixtures, tools and gauges for current and new parts.
• Prepare part/assembly development timelines and follow up with suppliers.
• Conduct weekly meetings on parts development plan vs. actual with stakeholders.
• Raise flags on time, perform risk assessment and mitigation.
• ECN tracking and implementation activities.

Functional

1. Technical knowledge of sheet metal & fabrication commodities

2. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and perform should-cost analysis. 3. Lead price negotiations, RFQs, and contract finalization to achieve cost targets.
