Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy in India is seeking a Purchase Engineer - Project based in Mehsana, Gujarat to identify and qualify suppliers, issue RFQs, and manage the procurement cycle for machinery and materials.

The role requires BE Mechanical and 7+ years of project procurement experience, with strong negotiation, ERP/Excel tracking, and coordination of international imports.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical is required.
• 7+ years of procurement/ Purchase experience in project environment.
• Experience identifying and qualifying suppliers and issuing RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers for machinery, spares, and materials from India and abroad.
• Prepare and issue detailed RFQs with technical specs, drawings, and commercial terms; analyze bids.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and warranties to optimize project costs.
• Issue purchase orders, amend contracts, and track order status using ERP/Excel trackers.
• Manage vendor performance, conduct audits, and develop alternate sources for risk mitigation.
• Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and insurance for international procurements.
• Maintain cost databases, conduct value engineering, and report savings weekly.

• Identify and qualify suppliers for machinery, spares, and materials (furnaces, pilgers, raw tubes) from India and other countries.
• Prepare and issue detailed RFQs with technical specs, drawings, and commercial terms; analyze bids for techno-commercial evaluation.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and warranties to optimize project costs within budget.
• Issue purchase orders, amend contracts, and track order status using ERP/Excel trackers.
• Manage vendor performance, conduct audits, and develop alternate sources for risk mitigation.
• Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and insurance for international procurements.
• Maintain cost databases, conduct value engineering, and report savings/purchase status weekly.Collaborate with engineering for spec finalization and resolve delivery/quality discrepancies.
• Should have minimum experience of 7/8 years in tube or similar industries in the field of Project.
