Job summary

Shubham Extrusion is seeking a Purchaser with hands-on experience in plastics machinery sourcing to drive procurement for machining and fabrication needs. You will manage VMC/CNC job work, source standard components, and negotiate prices while ensuring timely delivery and quality alignment with drawings.

ERP/MS Excel skills are essential to track POs and inventory. Collaborate with QA/QC and PPC teams to optimize inventory, vendor performance, and ensure cost-effective procurement across plastic

Qualifications

• 1–8 years of purchasing experience in plastic machinery, extrusion machinery, textile, pharma, packaging, heavy machinery manufacturing, or precision machining.
• Hands-on ERP software proficiency and MS Excel for procurement and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Source and manage custom VMC/CNC and conventional machining job work for high-precision parts.
• Procure raw materials and machined parts like extruder screws, barrels, die heads, air rings, rollers, and winding assemblies.
• Source standard mechanical items including gearboxes, motors, bearings, pneumatic components, and couplings.
• Manage vendors for heavy MS/SS structures, tower fabrications, and sheet metal parts from drawings.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new vendors capable of delivering high-precision components.
• Negotiate prices, per-piece machining charges, payment terms, and delivery schedules to save costs.
• Create and track POs in ERP and ensure timely material dispatch from vendors.
• Coordinate with stores and PPC to maintain optimum inventory and avoid line-stoppage.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to handle rejections and vendor audits.

Role & responsibilities:

Must have Experience in purchasing specifically within Plastic Machinery, Extrusion Machinery, Textile, Pharma, Packaging, Heavy Machinery Manufacturing, or Precision Machining industries

• Machining & Job Work Procurement: Source and manage custom VMC (Vertical Machining Center), CNC, and conventional machining job work for high-precision machine parts, die components, and structural plates.
• Mechanical Component Sourcing: Procure critical raw materials and machined parts like Extruder Screws, Barrels, Die Heads, Air Rings, Calendaring rollers, and winding assemblies.
• Standard Parts Procurement: Source standard mechanical items including heavy-duty Gearboxes, AC/DC Motors, Bearings (SKF/FAG), Pneumatic components (Festos/SMC), and Couplings.
• Fabrication & Structural Procurement: Manage vendors for heavy MS/SS structures, tower fabrications, and sheet metal parts based on engineering drawings.
• Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and machining workshops capable of delivering high-precision components required for plastic machinery.
• Cost Negotiation: Negotiate prices, per-piece machining charges, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
• PO Management: Create and track Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP system and ensure timely material dispatch from vendor workshops.
• Inventory Control: Coordinate with the stores and production planning (PPC) department to maintain optimum inventory levels and avoid line-stoppage.
• Quality Coordination: Work closely with the QA/QC team to handle material rejections, dimensional inaccuracies from machining, rework coordination, and vendor performance audits.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Software Skills: Hands-on experience with ERP software (SAP/Oracle/Tally) and MS Excel.
• Experience: 1 to 8 years in purchasing specifically within Plastic Machinery, Extrusion Machinery, Textile, Pharma, Packaging, Heavy Machinery Manufacturing, or Precision Machining industries.
