Job summary

Avalon Technologies in Chennai, India, is seeking a procurement professional to manage end-to-end direct materials sourcing, supplier relationships, and on-time delivery to the production line. The role requires strategic planning, negotiation, and cost optimization.

You will monitor market trends, drive 3% YoY cost reductions, and mentor the purchasing team while ensuring compliance and timely MIS reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage end to end Direct materials procurement/supply chain for the company that includes import, domestics supplier base & Subcontractors.
• Build strong & excellent collaborative relationship with the suppliers (Tier 1&2) base
• Ensure on time turn around to delivery of parts from suppliers to production line.
• Negotiate with the suppliers for the best possible prices matching market trend & Indexes.
• Continuous improvement on cost down on commodities, say 3% YoY
• Prepare & execute long time contractual & compliance agreements with suppliers.
• Negotiate & Improve payment terms wrt increase in payable days.
• Assess supplier performance & monitor for optimization on delivery, cost & quality.
• Monitor global Indexes & trends for material prices
• Identify critical & non performing suppliers & develop new suppliers. Resourcing for high volume & critical parts.
• Inventory control on incoming supplies and maintain reasonable Inventory at plant.
• Analyze, cost spent, Inventory, Clean to Build reports for better results & improvements.
• Prepare MIS for management on monthly basis on progress & projects.
• Guiding, Mentoring and managing other members of the purchasing team.
