Job Description
Reporting into the senior leadership team, the role will be responsible for driving the global commodity strategy for the Cables & Harness portfolio while leading a team of Strategic Commodity Managers. They will be resonsible for
- Developing and executing global commodity strategies for Cables, Harnesses, Connectors, and related electro-mechanical components.
- Building and expanding a robust supplier manufacturing ecosystem across global markets.
- Driving supplier selection, qualification, and sourcing initiatives aligned with cost, quality, delivery, and capacity objectives.
- Leading supplier negotiations, contract management, performance reviews, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Operations teams to support business growth initiatives.
- Identifying supply chain risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity and operational resilience.
- Driving supplier-led innovation and early supplier involvement initiatives to improve product quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
- Establishing performance metrics, monitoring supplier scorecards, and ensuring continuous improvement against annual business objectives.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of Strategic Commodity Managers while building future organisational capability.
- Partnering with Finance teams to optimise inventory, cash flow, and cost savings initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
An Ideal candidate must have:
- 15+ years of experience within Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Commodity Management.
- Significant experience managing electro-mechanical commodities, particularly Cables, Harnesses, Connectors, and related components.
- Experience leading teams of atleast 8-10 Commodity Managers or Supply Chain Managers within global manufacturing organisations.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical capabilities coupled with experience in ERP systems, supply chain analytics, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
They should also be adept in working with distributed teams and can come from Captial Equipment, Special Machines, Auto, FMCD or industries dealing with complex machines or products.
