Job summary

Virtuous Advisors & Resources in Mumbai seeks a Senior Manager, Project Finance (Renewable Energy) with 5–10 years of relevant experience to lead end-to-end project financing for solar, wind, hybrid, and storage projects.

You will structure debt, negotiate with lenders, review financing documents, and oversee TEV/LIE reporting, ensuring timely financial closure and post-disbursement compliance.

Qualifications

• CA, MBA (Finance), CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Candidates with a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Engineering along with relevant project finance experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the debt financing process for renewable energy projects, including utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and other clean energy projects.
• Drive financial closure within project timelines and ensure optimal financing costs and terms.
• Prepare, maintain, and independently review comprehensive project finance models for renewable energy projects.
• Review and negotiate sanction letters and financing documents, including loan agreements, facility agreements, security documents, escrow agreements, hypothecation agreements, and other related documentation.
• Coordinate and manage the preparation, review, and finalization of Techno-Economic Viability (TEV)/LIE reports required by lenders.
• Monitor loan drawdowns, interest during construction, debt repayment obligations, and utilization of sanctioned facilities.
• Track compliance with financial covenants, lender reporting requirements, and other obligations under financing documents.
• Act as the primary finance interface with banks, financial institutions, consultants, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
• Maintain an updated financing tracker covering lender discussions, sanctions, documentation, conditions precedent, disbursements, and compliance obligations.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and result-oriented Project Finance professional with 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in renewable energy financing, financial modelling, debt structuring, and lender negotiations. The candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end financing of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects, from financial evaluation and debt structuring to financial closure and post-disbursement compliance.

The candidate should possess a combination of technical financial modelling skills, practical understanding of renewable energy projects, and the ability to negotiate effectively with lenders and consultants.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in project financing for renewable energy developers or Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and a demonstrated track record of taking projects from financial appraisal through financial closure, will be preferred.
