Job summary

Tata Projects in Navi Mumbai seeks an experienced Project Engineer to lead MEP execution for heavy process industry projects, from conception to commissioning within budget and schedule.

The role requires 5–8 years in a process environment, with strong knowledge of HVAC, high-voltage systems, P&IDs, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project/Primavera. You will supervise on-site contractors and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of hands-on project engineering experience, with 2–3 years in heavy process industry, chemical plant, or metals manufacturing facility.
• Strong grasp of industrial HVAC, high-voltage transformers, furnace cooling systems, heavy piping blueprints, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/piping installations from conception to commissioning within budget and timeline limits.
• Oversee plant utility systems including cooling water networks, acid/chemical waste plumbing, power distribution, and ventilation/scrubber systems.
• Direct onsite MEP contractors, monitor daily progress, review shop drawings, and ensure method statements match plant safety rules.
• Witness and document pressure tests, electrical insulation checks, and integrated plant loop trials.
• Enforce strict EHS protocols, OSHA/local factory guidelines, and metallurgical statutory requirements.

• Contractor & Site Supervision: Direct onsite MEP contractors, monitor daily progress, review shop drawings, and ensure method statements match plant safety rules.


• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and document pressure tests, electrical insulation checks, and integrated plant loop trials.


• Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols, OSHA/local factory guidelines, and metallurgical statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


• Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands‑on project engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years inside a heavy process industry, chemical plant, or metals manufacturing facility.


• Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of industrial HVAC, high-voltage transformers, furnace cooling systems, heavy piping blueprints, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).


• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project or Primavera, and basic plant design tools.
