Job summary

Safety Projects Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Planning Engineer to manage production planning, machine loading, material planning, ERP coordination, and production scheduling to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and timely project execution.

The role requires strong coordination with cross-functional departments to optimize productivity, minimize delays, and improve delivery performance.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–12 years of experience in PPC (Production Planning & Control).
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and how they support planning.
• Proficient in production planning and scheduling.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills for MIS.
• Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Capacities planning and resource optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules and capacity.
• Develop machine-wise loading plans for optimal resource use.
• Monitor capacity utilization and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery timelines.
• Generate and release production orders through ERP systems.
• Track WIP and production progress; initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain production and planning data in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely material availability.
• Ensure availability of raw materials and production inputs as per schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and material shortages to avoid disruptions.
• Support inventory optimization and stock control activities.
• Provide regular production status updates to management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in planning and manufacturing processes.

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules and manufacturing capacity.
• Develop machine-wise loading plans for optimum utilization of plant resources.
• Monitor production capacity utilization and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and committed delivery timelines.
• Generate and release production orders through ERP systems.
• Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) through ERP and shop floor coordination.
• Track production progress, identify delays, and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate production and planning data within the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase departments for timely material availability.
• Ensure availability of raw materials, consumables, and production inputs as per production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and material shortages to avoid production disruptions.
• Support inventory optimization and stock control activities.
• Coordinate effectively with Design Department, Production Department, Stores, Purchase Department, and Dispatch Department.
• Ensure smooth communication and timely resolution of production-related issues.
• Prepare planning MIS reports and production tracking reports.
• Monitor bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints.
• Provide regular production status updates to management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning and manufacturing processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–12 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC), preferably in fabrication and manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Production planning and scheduling expertise.
