Job summary

Watertec in Coimbatore is seeking a production planning and materials coordinator to optimize manufacturing throughput using SAP, Power BI, and Excel. You will align demand with capacity, manage inventories, and drive continuous improvement across production lines.

Key responsibilities include planning, material orchestration, and monitoring KPIs such as OEE, while collaborating with procurement, dispatch, and sales to meet customer timelines and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and inventory management practices.
• Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, and MS Excel for monitoring production metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on demand forecasts, sales data, and business priorities.
• Ensure optimum machine loading and manpower allocation to achieve production targets.
• Coordinate material availability to avoid production delays.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packing materials.
• Maintain optimum levels of Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods inventory.
• Support JIT and lean inventory practices to minimize excess inventory and material shortages.
• Monitor daily production progress and ensure timely SAP transactions.
• Ensure physical stock is reconciled with SAP stock.
• Identify production bottlenecks and support process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain production reports and monitor KPIs such as OEE.
• Work closely with Procurement, Production, Dispatch, and Sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Align production priorities with customer requirements and business demand.
• Support effective utilization of SAP for production planning and tracking.
• Analyze production performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Focus on reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

5. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze production performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Focus on reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Skills

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as Injection Moulding, Extrusion, Machining, Automation, and Assembly.
• Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and inventory management practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, and Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Ability to handle production challenges and make quick decisions.

Preferred Certification

• SAP Certification Preferred, but not mandatory.
