Job summary

Kirloskar Brothers Limited in India seeks an experienced planning professional to coordinate and streamline manufacturing of pump components. You will interpret specifications, plan manufacturing per BOM, and prepare MS Project schedules aligned with milestones.

You will collaborate across Marketing, Design, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Dispatch to ensure timely delivery, track vendor performance, and drive schedule risk mitigation with SAP-based data.

Qualifications

• 5 to 12 years of experience in planning critical products.
• Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA and MS Office suite is essential.

Responsibilities

• Interpret product specifications and engineering drawings for components and pump assemblies.
• Plan and monitor manufacturing activities as per BOM and MS Project milestones.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Design, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Dispatch teams.
• Monitor production progress and identify critical path activities; implement recovery actions.
• Coordinate SAP transactions related to Materials Master, PP and reporting.
• Present weekly status updates at cross-functional meetings.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

A. Technical Understanding & Planning

• Interpret product specifications and engineering drawings of components, sub-assemblies, and pump assemblies.
• Plan and monitor detailed manufacturing activities for each component and assembly as per the Bill of Material (BOM).
• Prepare MS project schedules in MS Project, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones.

B. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Marketing, Design, process engineering, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely completion of activities.
• Facilitate inter-departmental reviews to resolve constraints impacting schedules.
• Ensure seamless information flow across functions for smooth project execution.

C. Production & Vendor Planning

• Plan and monitor outsourced machining components.
• Daily meeting with Machine shop, assembly, QC and procurement team to review status.
• Coordinate with purchase to ensure adherence to committed delivery timelines.
• Track vendor performance and elevate delays when necessary.

D. Monitoring & Control

• Monitor production progress and update schedules regularly in MS Project.
• Identify critical path activities and analyze schedule risks.
• Conduct delay analysis and recommend corrective or recovery action plans.
• Track material availability in SAP and proactively highlight potential bottlenecks.

E. SAP & System Coordination

• Coordinate SAP transactions related to Material Master, Production Planning (PP), and crediting Processes.
• Ensure accuracy of planning-related data in SAP for effective monitoring and reporting.

F. Reporting & Management Updates

• Present weekly status of project during cross functional meeting (CFT).
• Provide analytical inputs to management for decision-making to avoid delay.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 12 years of experience in Planning of critical products.
• Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA, MS project, MS excel, Power point, Word etc.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, NDT, and testing.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills and Strong coordination and communication abilities.
