Orient Bell in Delhi seeks a Production Planning professional to translate sales forecasts into SKU-level production plans, balancing demand with plant capacity for optimal stock. The role collaborates with Sales and Manufacturing, tracks forecast accuracy, and generates MIS reports.
The candidate will leverage Excel, SAP or similar ERP planning platforms and BI tools to keep planning data accurate and reporting timely.
Study sales forecasts and market/demand trends provided by the Sales team and translate them into a detailed, SKU-level production plan
Plan production count and volumes based on sales projections, current inventory levels, and plant capacity, ensuring optimal stock availability without over- or under-production
Act as the key connect and coordination point between the Sales and Production/Manufacturing teams, ensuring both functions stay aligned on priorities, timelines, and changes in demand
Track actual sales performance against forecast on an ongoing basis and adjust the production plan proactively to minimize gaps, stock-outs, or excess inventory
Generate periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) MIS reports, dashboards, and analytics covering sales vs. production, forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, and inventory status for management review
Work extensively with Excel and digital/ERP planning platforms (e.g., SAP or similar) and BI tools to maintain accurate planning data, build models, and automate reporting
Plan production capacity and resource allocation across product lines/plants in line with the demand plan, flagging capacity constraints well in advance
Present plans, insights, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and senior management
Recommend improvements to forecasting accuracy, planning processes, and reporting systems based on data trends and ground-level insights
1. Data & Digital Platform Proficiency
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, data modelling) and working knowledge of digital/ERP planning platforms and BI tools to manage planning data and automate reporting.
2. Sales Forecasting & Production Planning
Sound understanding of sales forecasting techniques and production/demand planning methodologies, with strong analytical and problem‑solving ability to translate forecasts into an actionable production plan.
3. Communication Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to align two very different functionsSales and Productionaround a shared plan.
4. Stakeholder Management
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills to work effectively across Sales, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
