Job summary

Spacewood in Hingna, Maharashtra, seeks an experienced Production Leader to drive end-to-end manufacturing of wooden/home furniture. The role focuses on achieving production targets, quality, productivity and cost efficiency across multiple lines.

You will manage manpower, machinery and materials, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and optimal utilization. Strong leadership and Lean/Kaizen mindset are essential for continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with 12/14 years total experience.
• Minimum 10 years hands-on in woodworking/furniture manufacturing.
• Strong exposure to wood-based furniture production processes, machinery, manpower management and production planning.
• Experience managing large-scale production teams and multiple production lines preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and people-management skills.
• Should be target-oriented with focus on productivity, quality and timely delivery.
• Experience in home furniture / modular furniture manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and monitor daily and monthly production as per schedules.
• Drive production of wooden/home furniture while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Optimize manpower, machines, materials and capacity.
• Coordinate between Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Design and Commercial teams.
• Monitor KPIs: productivity, rejection, rework, wastage, OEE, downtime, delivery adherence.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement Lean/Kaizen initiatives.
• Ensure proper utilization of wood, boards, hardware and other raw materials.
• Maintain production discipline and compliance with SOPs, safety and 5S.
• Lead and develop the production team including supervisors and operators.
• Review performance and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Work with Quality team to minimize rejection, rework and complaints.
• Support new product development, process trials and improvements.
• Ensure maintenance coordination to minimize breakdowns.
• Prepare and present production MIS and performance reports to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and monitor daily/monthly production as per business requirements and dispatch schedules.
• Drive production of wooden/home furniture while ensuring adherence to quality and productivity standards.
• Manage and optimize manpower, machines, materials and production capacity.
• Ensure smooth coordination between Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Design and Commercial teams.
• Monitor production KPIs including productivity, rejection, rework, wastage, OEE, downtime and delivery adherence.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements, Lean/Kaizen and productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Ensure effective utilization of wood, boards, hardware, consumables and other raw materials.
• Maintain production discipline and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards and 5S practices.
• Lead and develop the production team, including supervisors, operators and workmen.
• Review production performance regularly and take corrective actions to achieve targets.
• Work closely with the Quality team to minimize rejection, rework and customer complaints.
• Support new product development, process trials and product/process improvements.
• Ensure proper maintenance coordination to minimize machine breakdowns and production downtime.
• Prepare and present regular production MIS and performance reports to senior management.

Candidate Profile
