Qualifications

• Experience in auto-component Cutting, Forging, CNC Machining and Heat-Treatment serving OEMs
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 14001, core quality tools, Lean, 5S and TPM
• Age 35-45 years (indicative)

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, monthly production plans across forging, machining, and heat-treatment lines
• Maximize OEE and machine utilization, reduce setup/changeover time and idle time
• Ensure in-process quality, adherence to control plans and IATF 16949 discipline; support 8D/CAPA
• Enforce safety, 5S, PPE, and EHS compliance on the floor
• Control scrap, material yield, tooling and power usage; drive Kaizen and cost-reduction actions
• Ensure readiness of finished goods per dispatch schedule; coordinate with Stores and PPC
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and rapid breakdown recovery
• Deploy, supervise and develop operators; manage attendance, shift rosters, overtime; build skill-matrix
• Maintain production MIS and drive continual-improvement projects

A. Position Details

• Job Title: Production Manager / Production Head
• Department: Manufacturing - Cutting, Phosphating and Cold Forging
• Location: Bommasandra Industrial Area, Bengaluru
• Reports To: Plant Head / Factory Manager
• Direct Reports: Production Engineers, Line Supervisors, Operators & Technicians
• Coordinates With: Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores, Purchase, Tool-room & HR
• Employment Type: Full-time, on-site

B. Experience & Qualification

• Experience: 15+ years in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years leading as a production manager.
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Production / Mechanical Engineering or M.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial.
• Industry background: Experience in auto-component Cutting, Forging, CNC Machining and Heat-Treatment processes serving OEM customers is strongly preferred.
• Systems exposure: Working knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 14001, core quality tools, Lean, 5S and TPM.
• Age (indicative): 35 - 45 years.

• Process expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge of Cutting, Phosphating and Forging along with an understanding of CNC machining and Heat-treatment processes.

D. Key Result Areas (KRA)

1. Production Planning & Achievement:

Execute the daily, weekly and monthly production plans released by the Plant Head / PPC, and deliver shift-wise output targets across forging, machining and heat-treatment lines by balancing manpower, machines and material for uninterrupted flow.

2. Productivity & Efficiency:

Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), machine utilization and output per man-hour by reducing set-up / changeover time, idle time and cycle time, and by sustaining line balancing.

3. Process Quality:

Ensure in-process quality and strict adherence to control plans, work instructions and IATF 16949 process discipline; contain in-process rejection and rework, and support 8D / CAPA problem-solving techniques.

4. Safety, 5S & Housekeeping:

Enforce PPE, safe work practices and hazard reporting on the floor, sustain 5S and workplace organization, and support statutory and EHS compliance in the production area.

5. Cost, Scrap & Material Yield:

Control scrap, consumables, tooling and power usage on the shop floor, improve raw-material and forging yield, reduce process losses, and drive Kaizen and cost-reduction actions on the line.

6. Delivery & Dispatch Support:

Ensure production readiness of finished goods per the dispatch schedule, maintain agreed WIP and buffer levels in coordination with Stores and PPC, and prevent any line-stoppage at the customer end.

7. Machine Uptime Coordination:

Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and rapid breakdown recovery, enforce operator-level autonomous maintenance (TPM / Jishu Hoshin), and elevate recurring machine issues with data.

8. Manpower & Shift Management:

Deploy, supervise, motivate and develop operators, technicians and line supervisors; manage attendance, shift rosters, overtime and discipline; and build skill-matrix, multiskilling and on-the-job training.

9. Reporting & Continual Improvement:

Maintain accurate production, downtime and rejection MIS, present the daily production review to the Plant Head, and drive lean / Continual-improvement projects on the line.

F. Key Authorities

• Deploy manpower and machines across shifts within the approved production plan.
• Stop a line / process on quality or safety grounds and elevate to the Plant Head.
• Approve consumable and minor tooling usage within delegated financial limits.
• Recommend operator training, multiskilling and disciplinary action.
