Job summary

Mitaso Appliances in India is seeking an experienced Production Manager with 10+ years in sheet metal manufacturing to lead production operations, ensure on-time delivery, drive quality, productivity, and shop-floor discipline.

You will oversee plan, monitor, and optimize processes across press work, bending, punching, fabrication, welding, and assembly; manage manpower, equipment, and safety while aligning with company policies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in production/manufacturing, preferably sheet metal.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Experience in handling production teams and shop-floor operations.
• Good understanding of production planning and capacity utilization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor day-to-day production activities.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.

• Prepare and monitor production schedules based on customer requirements and dispatch priorities.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager with 10+ years of hands-on experience in the sheet metal manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production operations, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality standards, improving productivity, and effectively managing manpower and shop-floor activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor day-to-day production activities.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
• Manage sheet metal manufacturing processes including press work, bending, punching, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
• Prepare and monitor production schedules based on customer requirements and dispatch priorities.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and raw materials.
• Monitor production efficiency, rejection, rework, downtime, and productivity.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve production output.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase, PPC, and Dispatch teams.
• Ensure adherence to production processes, work instructions, safety standards, and company policies.
• Control material wastage and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead and motivate supervisors, operators, and shop-floor workers.
• Maintain production reports, MIS, daily output records, and other relevant documentation.
• Handle machine breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team for quick resolution.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices across the production floor.
• Support new product development, process improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in production/manufacturing, preferably in the sheet metal industry.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in handling production teams and shop-floor operations.
• Good understanding of production planning, manpower planning, and capacity utilization.
• Ability to troubleshoot production-related issues and meet tight delivery schedules.
• Knowledge of quality systems, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices will be preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-management skills.
• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
