Job summary

Oben Electric Vehicles in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Production Manager to drive manufacturing excellence. The role focuses on achieving productivity targets, optimizing line efficiency, and ensuring OEE through robust processes.

You will lead a cross-functional team, implement lean manufacturing, safety standards, and 5S, while coordinating with quality, engineering, and supply chain to meet customer demand and deliver quality products on schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in production management, preferably in EV or automotive industries.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resources.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Achieve production targets and OEE while maintaining quality and safety.
• Lead and train the production team; conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
• Ensure 100% PPE compliance and adherence to safety regulations.
• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance to minimize downtime with maintenance teams.
• Prepare and maintain production documents (SOPs, Process check sheets, OPL, etc.).
• Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, and logistics for seamless execution.

Role & responsibilities

1. Production:

• Responsible for to achieve set productivity target
• Responsible to achieve the set OEE
• Responsible to close the daily MIS
• Responsible to make all the production documents like SOP, Process check sheet, OPL etc
• Responsible to train the operator and skill upgradation
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resources.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.

2. Quality Control:

• Implement defect free process
• Implement and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to address and rectify any production-related quality issues.

3. Team Leadership

• Lead and motivate the production team to achieve production targets and quality objectives.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate training as needed.

4. Process Optimisation:

• Continuously analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste.

5. Safety Compliance:

• Ensure 100% PPE compliance
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the production environment.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all team members.

6. Equipment Maintainance:

• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that production equipment is well-maintained and operating at optimal levels.

7. Cost Management:

• Monitor production costs and implement cost-effective measures to enhance overall profitability.
• Work with the finance team to develop and manage production budgets.

8. Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
• Provide regular updates on production status and address any challenges or bottlenecks.

Core Competencies:

• Responsible for Daily rejection analysis on Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly,Housing Assembly & Motor assembly to maintain the Yield Rate.
• Responsible for capacity calculation of machines & assembly lines as per customer requirement monthly basis.
• Responsible to cooperate with R&D team to support in the development of new products.
• Responsible to Strengthening the Process by implementation of the Poke Yoke on Machines
• Responsible to study the Takt Time & Cycle Time of each station as per requirement
• Responsible to Develop best possibilities to improve Production capacity & Quality.
• Responsible to prepare Documents PFC, FMEA, Line layout, Line capacity, Control Plan, Process control sheets (Equipment & Product).
• Responsible to Implementation of 5S, 3M & Kaizen.based on customer complaints through CAPA, QCC, one point lesson & 8D reports.
• Responsible for controlling the consumables consumption by using the daily monitoring sheets.
• Responsible for OJT (on job training) to the operators for process and quality improvement.
• Responsible for Find root cause of the problem and solve by PDCA cycle.
