Job summary

Oben Electric Vehicles is seeking a Production Manager to oversee assembly operations in Bengaluru. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, implement lean manufacturing practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety and quality standards across the line.

You will collaborate with supply chain, QA, and engineering to meet production targets and optimize resources. The role requires hands-on leadership, a strong grasp of production processes, and experience in implementing SOPs, CAPA,

Role & responsibilities

1. Production:

• Responsible for to achieve set productivity target
• Responsible to achieve the set OEE
• Responsible to close the daily MIS
• Responsible to make all the production documents like SOP, Process check sheet, OPL etc
• Responsible to train the operator and skill upgradation
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resources.
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.

2. Quality Control:

• Implement defect free process
• Implement and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to address and rectify any production-related quality issues.

3. Team Leadership

• Lead and motivate the production team to achieve production targets and quality objectives.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate training as needed.

4. Process Optimisation:

• Continuously analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste.

5. Safety Compliance:

• Ensure 100% PPE compliance
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the production environment.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all team members.

6. Equipment Maintainance:

• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that production equipment is well-maintained and operating at optimal levels.

7. Cost Maintainance:

• Monitor production costs and implement cost-effective measures to enhance overall profitability.
• Work with the finance team to develop and manage production budgets.

8. Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
• Provide regular updates on production status and address any challenges or bottlenecks.

Core Competencies:

• Lithium ion battery pack,Battery charging and discharging process , BCT, BMS ,Safety requirement, Function parameter Like -OCV,IR,Cell Dimension ,Nominal voltage,SOC,C-rate.Cell technology,
• Responsible for monthly schedules by coordinating with PPC and planning resources availability all the time for smooth execution of production activities.
• Responsible for capacity planning and manpower planning as per production forecast.
• Responsible for Preparing & updating the SOPs, work instructions and training the team members.
• Responsible to Ensure the quality of products meeting as per IATF:16949 standard requirements.
• Responsible to Ensure the employee safety and environment across the line
• Responsible to Ensure the 5S in worplace all time and improving continuously on daily basis.
• Responsible to Establish the effective process controls like POKE-YOKEs for the existing process, by coordinating with customers on process audits initiating counter measures based on customer complaints through CAPA, QCC, one point lesson & 8D reports.
• Responsible to implement low cost automation projects and implement by coordinating with concerned department.
• Responsible for End-to-End Assembly and Reworking / Rectifying the defects in the Battery Pack.
• Responsible to implement PFD,APQP,PPAP,FMEA,SPC & MSA)
• Responsible to identify bottle neck opeartion and implement kaizen to reduce the same
• Responsible to do cycle time study (MOST )

Qualifications:

Proven experience in production management, preferably in the electric vehicle or automotive industry.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a production team.

In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
