Responsibilities

• Meet production targets in adherence to weekly production schedules and quality standards.
• Prepare, implement and evaluate shift-wise production schedules to achieve productivity, efficiency and quality targets.
• Implement work instructions and process sheets for the production shop floor.
• Support the production manager in finalizing the schedule plan for machine loading and turbine assembly.
• Conduct shop floor production meetings and take necessary actions for fallouts.
• Monitor material requirements and minimize downtime due to inventory shortages.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure preventive and timely breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Record daily production log book shift-wise and monitor lead-times.
• Record rework, rejections, supplier supplies, and initiate corrective actions.
• Ensure safety, pollution control and proper PPE usage on shop floor.
• Coordinate for stores activity and ensure deviations are addressed.

PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) with 5 to 8 years of experience in a Heavy Machine Shop, Heavy Fabrication Shop and Assembly.

Key Requirements:

• Willingness to work in all three shifts on a rotational basis.
• Transportation will be provided from Hoskote
• Candidates must be willing to relocate near Hoskote (Bangalore Rural District).

Job Responsibilities:

• Meet production targetsin adherence to weekly production schedules and quality standards
• Prepare, implement and evaluate shift-wise production schedules to achieve productivity, efficiency and quality targets set
• Implement work instructions and process sheets for the production shop floor
• Support the production manager in finalizing the schedule plan for machine loading and turbine assembly
• Conduct shop floor production meetings and take necessary actions for fallouts
• Monitor material requirements and take necessary action to ensure minimal production downtime due inventory shortages
• Co Ordinate with maintenance team and Ensure the regular preventive maintenance and timely breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime
• Record daily production log book (quantity, breakdown, absenteeism etc) shift wise
• Monitor and record actual lead-times against standard lead-time
• Record rework, rejections, vendor supplies, used components and initiate necessary corrective and preventive action
• Ensure reduction in wastage / pilferage of material; responsible for safety of machines, equipments, power and other consumables
• Coordinate and support the QA team during customer inspection
• Provide necessary work orders /drawings / documents (controlled copies) to each work station as necessary. Replace obsolete drawings with drawings to new / latest index
• Co-Ordinate for stores activity (Receipts and shipments) and initiate actions in case of deviations.
• Ensure conformance to the safety plan and safety practices; enforce safety requirements in shop floor by use of Personnel Protective Equipments (PPEs) like Helmet, Goggles, Gloves, Ear Plugs, etc.
• Ensure effective pollution and waste management as per statutory requirements
• Implement continous improvement tools like 5S, Kaizen, Kanban etc on the shop floor
• Prepare productivity trend charts and monitor the same
• Provide support to E&C team and also to sub-contract vendors
• Ensure timely review of projects along with the team and other involved stakeholders and documenting of MOM & respective action points
• Provide timely MIS to the core management team to enhance decision making and review performance
